Ashland to Mineral,Va
Miles:60
Temp:75-80
Weather: windy (20 mph)
Today was our first big trek into the world! Virginia is beautiful. I noticed a few days ago that Virginia smells so good, sweet like honey. We hung out at a few stops, stops are awesome. Hanging out with people is a real boos energy. We stayed at William Hale's farm what a beautiful place and wonderful hospitality. He allowed Lee and I to use the grill. It was my turn to cook for everyone with Lee. It was very successful, we had a very nice store to get food, we got so much food too. Too much intact I sweettalked the store manager to drive the food to where we were staying about 11 miles down the road. We would have been realy weighted down if we were to carry all of the food! We had chips qnd salsa, 24 hambergers and 24 hotdogs, a wonderful salad, and fruit salad for dessert. It was a hit! We were in charge of brakefast and lunch for the next day our lunch meat sandwich and real cheese and cerial was welcomed as well. Big thanks to William for letting us stay there

Today has been a wonderful look to how it will be for the next 91 days. We rode from Williamsburg to Glendale today and man was it hot Bryn and I rode together. She clocked the temp at 100 at times. The road was giving off so much heat. We had fun on our first 50 mile day! Bryn and I listned to music nost of the time. We found little stops to snack and drink water really helped keep our energy up. I'm really tired now but today was alot of fun. Riding the bike paths were really beautiful. We past a bus stop with elementary school kids that waved, one said wow your bike is awesome talking about the recumbent bike. That encuragement and the beauty of Virgina made today fantastic. Tomorow we go to Ashland. Anyone want to meet up just let me know! I'll be In Town by noon I think.

Today mom and dad dropped me off at the quality inn in Williamsburg. I met everyone going on this adventure. We had our orientation meeting. After the meeting we hung out some more. Meeting everyone was very exciting. Tomorow we wake up bright and early 7:00 Am... From there were checking our bikes and making the quick trip to Jamestown. At Jamestown we're dipping out tires in the water. I'm so happy to be here and get this adventure started!
