Today was our longist day so far but it was sunny! No rain yet! It's supposed to rain, downpour. tomorows my birthday!!! but back to today we finaly got to another state! over 530 miles and is VA done.
Recap of biking the entire way across VA:
1. It smells amazing like honeysuckle
2. It went from east to west sea side, rural, horse and cattle farms, open feilds, to forest.
3. It was Flat for the first week then flat was over
4. Blue ridge park way was fantastic
5. cookie lady was amazing
6. logging companys were a big industry
7. Demascus, Va was great and very insperational, in a few years I'll be doing the AT
Kentucky is full of dogs with in the first hour we encountered over 10 dogs that were all off leashes and free to chase and bark at us I found that getting off my bike and walking while talking to the dogs works the best. Tonight we are staying at the historical sociatys house it's like a hostel we set up our tents and had a wondrful pizza and ocecream dinner.
Must be scary when dogs are chasing you. Hope you stay safe!
